Fair Chase Partnerships Grow

December 11, 2017 by

In the recent Pheasant's Forever magazine, I noticed an article on Fair Chase.  We are excited to find there is a whole website dedicated to Fair Chase called www.huntfairchase.com.

One of my concerns about South Dakota's pheasant hunting "brand" is the amount of released pheasants unaccounted for in the system and the numerous outfitters putting birds out and calling them "wild".  In addition, by the letter of the law these released pheasants are technically wild under fish and game laws and are included in the daily bag limit.  It's why we got away from the word "wild" and went to Fair Chase pheasant hunting because all our birds are naturally produced and our hunters would have it no other way.

The great thing about getting on the Fair Chase train is you don't have to worry about what others are doing. You just have to focus on growing the Fair Chase movement.  UGUIDE has been putting "Fair Chase" on the back of the hats we give hunters for years.

Boone & Crockett Club has been touting Fair Chase since 1887.  Pope & Young has a Fair Chase Affidavit.

I'm also excited to know that Pheasant's Forever has formed strong partnerships with these great legacy conservation organizations built on Fair Chase principles.  Hunt Fair Chase!
